  Script a dialogue for a welcome scene which would be typical in your workplace. After you have scripted it, try recording it on tape.

  Imagine you are all invited to a formal business reception. At this reception, you have the following objectives:

  1 to introduce yourself to everyone

  2 to engage in a minimum of one minute’s small talk

  3 to learn something about each person you meet

  Prepare yourself by:

  1 giving yourself an identity-name, job, background

  2 establishing your current situation-live where/visiting/working, etc.

  3 preparing some small talk-weather, travel, etc.
